There are mornings when getting up is easy. The light comes in warm and you're already thinking about what you want for breakfast, already humming something, already glad.
And there are other mornings.
The ones where the blanket feels heavier than usual. Where you lie still for a while and the day hasn't even started yet and somehow it already feels like a lot. Where you're not sad, exactly, and not sick, exactly — just... not quite ready. Like your body is here but the rest of you is still somewhere far off, taking its time.
Those mornings count too.
In fact — and this is the thing worth knowing — simply waking up and being here is already something. Not nothing. Not neutral. Something.

You don't have to earn the day before it starts.
That might sound like a small thing to say. But think about how often we treat mornings like a test we have to pass. Get up at the right time. Feel the right way. Start with energy, or with a plan, or with your best self already switched on and ready. As if the day is watching and deciding whether you deserve to be in it.
It isn't. The day is just the day. And you are already in it.
When you opened your eyes this morning — whenever that was, however it felt — something kept going that could have stopped. Your heart. Your breathing. The quiet, ordinary miracle of you, still here. We move past that so quickly. We roll out of bed and immediately start wondering if we're going to be good enough today, fast enough, happy enough, useful enough. We skip right over the fact that we are here at all.
